Classes of Coaches
TAZARA operates two cross boarder passenger trains weekly every Tuesdays and Fridays from New Kapiri Mposhi as well as from Dar es Salaam. Each train is provided with First Class Coaches with 4 berths per compartment, Second Class Coaches with 6 berths per compartment, with free beddings, a Luxurious Supper Sitter Coach and Third Class Coaches.
Room service is available for first and second classes. Upper class passengers also enjoy the privilege of taking a shower on board. There is also a lounge car where customers in the upper class have the liberty to relax and watch DVD movies, whilst being served with chilled or hot beverages of choice. Piped music is provided in all compartments.
